a Third Place (February) - Honouring our queer ancestors
This workshop will help us, as queer people of colour, reclaim the narratives of our culture and identity by rewriting our history through sharing untold stories and imagining the lives of our queer ancestors.
With the current socio-political landscape for queer people declining worldwide, it is important to learn our history and reclaim the narratives on queer identities in our communities. We will work with writing and drawing prompts to imagine who our queer ancestors may be (ancestors as in elders in the community and/or relatives), what we can learn from them and what we can do to honour them in our lives.
It will be a relaxed space for people who identify as both LGBT+/Queer and BPoC with a chill out area and dinner provided (vegan/veggie options available).
The workshop will be led by Mahasin from Exhale.
